How we list your miniatures
Hi! If you run a miniature store or studio, this page is for you. Here is how your products show up on Display Minis Hub, and how our crawler visits your shop.
How your products appear
Display Minis Hub brings display miniatures from lots of stores and studios together in one place. Painters and collectors find a piece they love here - and then we send them to you to buy it.
- Each listing shows the miniature's name, details like scale and material, a few photos, the price and whether it's in stock in your web shop.
- Every listing links straight to the product page in your shop, alongside any other shops that sell the same miniature.
- We keep small, resized copies of your photos rather than the full-size originals.
- If you'd like something taken down, our takedown policy explains how.
And if you'd like to work together - say, to feature your studio or to share your catalog with us in a better way - we'd love to hear from you.
Meet DisplayMinisHubBot
To keep prices and stock up to date, we use our own small crawler. It tells your server who it is, so you'll recognise it in your logs by this name:
DisplayMinisHubBot/1.0 (+https://displayminishub.com/for-stores#bot)
One exception: Shopify turns away named crawlers that come from cloud servers, so on some Shopify shops we send a browser name instead. Your robots.txt rules for DisplayMinisHubBot still apply there.
Usually once a day.
We usually look through each store's products once a day, so prices and stock on our side stay close to yours. We spread the stores out, so we don't all arrive at the same moment.
Gentle on your site.
We aim to open one page at a time, a few seconds apart, and to slow down when your site is busy. Photos come separately, and we only download the ones we haven't seen before.
Only your catalog.
We look at your product and category pages, product feeds and sitemaps, and the product photos on them. We never log in, touch the cart or checkout, or look at anything about your customers.
Your robots.txt decides.
We follow what your robots.txt says for DisplayMinisHubBot, or for * if it doesn't mention us. The one exception: if you've told us by email that we're welcome, we go by that email - even where robots.txt closes pages to other bots.
Allow or stop our crawler
The easiest way to let us in is a short email - that's how we agree on most things with stores. If you'd also like to say it in your robots.txt, add these two lines:
User-agent: DisplayMinisHubBot Allow: /
And if you'd rather we didn't visit at all, these two lines will tell us:
User-agent: DisplayMinisHubBot Disallow: /
Using Cloudflare or another firewall that blocks bots? Add a rule that lets through requests whose User-Agent contains DisplayMinisHubBot.
Want us to visit at a different pace, skip some pages, or stop altogether? Or stuck setting any of this up? Just write to us. We're software engineers, and we're happy to help members of our community with the technical side.
